Founded in 1984 by Ronald Johnson, M.D., Academy Dermatology and Laser Center is backed with over 30 years of medical experience.

Dr. Johnson is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Pathology, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists and Surgeons,  and numerous other local, state, and national professional dermatology organizations.

Dr. Johnson completed his undergraduate education magna cum laude from the University of Michigan, and completed medical school and residency training at Wayne State University School of Medicine,  He has completed extensive post-graduate training in medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology, and maintains a rigorous schedule of ongoing continuing medical education.

In addition to establishing innovative uses for lasers in surgical and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Johnson has helped develop a comprehensive computer based practice management system used in his own and other medical offices.

Dr. Johnson is married with two children, and enjoys numerous outdoor and technical hobbies including aviation and communications engineering.  For over 25 years he has provided leadership and consulting broadcast engineering services for several non-profit, non-commercial radio networks serving the entire State of Colorado.
